Google has made a few tweaks to two of its SEO help documents. The changes include the validation of the title and the link elements that are most important for the RSS feed following Google Discover and that Google embeds the img element even inside other elements, such as the image element .
Google added a new line to the Get On Discover documentation under the feed guide for the Follow feature in Google Discover. Google wrote:
“The most important content for the Last section of your feed <name> element and each item <link> elements. Make sure your diet includes these elements.”
Obviously, if you want the final image to work properly in Chrome, you must include the <title> elements and <links> element to your RSS feed.
Google Image SEO best practices update
Google also updated the image SEO best practice document to be highlighted by Google following <img> element even if it is nested with other elements (such as <image> element) when sorting images.
The document used says “Google compiles the HTML of your pages to index images, but not to index CSS images.” It reads as follows:
“Using semantic HTML markup helps crawlers find and process images. Google parses the HTML <img> element (even if it is embedded with other elements such as <image> elements) on your pages it references images, but not CSS images.”
